Social media is buzzing over Killer Mike‘s candid convo where he advocates gun ownership in a video for the NRA.
The controversial conversation was strategically released by the NRA just two days before the March For Our Lives rallies across the nation, where young people called for gun control following the tragic school shooting at Parkland High School in Florida.
While some understood Mike’s point-of-view when it comes to gun ownership, many others, like Joy Reid, was NOT here for it:

I love Killer Mike.Thats my brother. He made some excellent points about Black gun ownership. The problem is, he is talking about it on the NRA platform & the NRA could give LESS THAN A DAMN about protecting Black people's 2nd Amendment rights. Ask the family of Philando Castille

Before you mention Jordan Davis again, please talk to @lucymcbath.
Before you defend the NRA again, please consider #PhilandoCastile.
Before you double down again, please reverse course.
We’ve all buried too many too young.
The ground is full.

of all the things killer mike said, what's the one making people the most upset? lying on the good name of…wakanda.

Killer Mike clearly has not studied NRA history. When the Black Panthers were defending themselves against police brutality, which was/is tyrannical government & the very thing that #2A was meant for, the NRA supported gun control in the form of the Mulford Act. #MarchForOurLives

Killer Mike’s mistake isn’t in his position — it’s thinking the NRA gives a damn about people of color. If it came down to an armed black man and a cop, I think we all know whose side the NRA is on.

“Killer” Mike is one backyard or toy gun away from realizing he’s being played. #AMJoy

Do you think the NRA pimped Killer Mike and his belief in the 2nd Amendment to reel in black folks?
