Sharon Stone revealed in her new memoir, “The Beauty of Living Twice,” that she was tricked into removing her underwear for the infamous cross-legged scene in the movie, Basic Instinct.

Sharon claims someone on the production team asked her to remove her panties for the scene because the white color was reflecting the light. She said they ensured her “we can’t see anything,” referring to her private parts.

According to Sharon’s memoir, “when she screened the final cut of the movie in a room full of agents and lawyers, most of whom had nothing to do with the project” she realized that she had been duped.

Sharon says she slapped the film director, Paul Verhoeven, after the meeting and called her lawyer Marty Singer.

Sharon’s lawyer reassured her that production violated SAG policy and the movie could not be released without her approval.

After thinking about the totality of the situation, Sharon says she decided to approve the scene because it fit her persona, but it didn’t change the duplicity of the situation.

Sharon said, “Sex, not just sexuality onscreen, has long been expected in my business.”

She admitted that she’s dealt with sexual misconduct on sets for years, including a director who demanded she sit on his lap and a producer telling her she should have sex with her co-star to increase on-screen chemistry.
