Sade‘s transgender son, Izaak Theo, is in the process of transitioning from female to male and he’s sharing his journey with the world.
Izaak, who came out as a trans man in 2017, has undergone stage one of Phalloplasty, which is the construction or reconstruction of a penis, or the artificial modification of the penis by surgery.
In a post on his IG page, Izaak shared:
SOOOO, I have had many people asking me “what happened to your arm” Well, on the 2nd of April 2019 I had phalloplasty and Dr Christopher Salgado made me whole.
I still don’t have the words to be honest. All I can say is that this man is one of the most amazing, talented kindhearted people I have ever met. He is not only my surgeon but my friend and I am Lucky to have him in my life. Thank you for existing Chris, you have set me free.

This process is trying, tiring, painful, emotionally exhausting, physically exhausting, uncomfortable (like I can’t sleep like a normal human being rn lol) I often ask myself “why the fuck do I have to endure this to be who I am” but at the end of the day this is the path that was laid out for me and I’ll walk it to the end.
My dad always says “keep your eyes on the horizon” and that’s what I do, because through all this pain is the comfort that it’s not forever and I have the rest of my life ahead of me and I am so, SO DAMN EXCITED, I just have to remind myself to be patient sometimes as I’m sure we all do.
