A biopic is in the works from Winter State Entertainment about Rosa Parks!

This will be the first time a biopic about the “Mother of the Civil Rights Movement” will make it to theaters nationwide.

Via Deadline:

This new effort is entitled Rosa. Scripted by Charlie Kessler and Hamid Torabpour, Rosa will chronicle the first 24-hours as they unfold after the arrest of Parks on December 1, 1955.

The project will also recognize the contributions to the civil rights movement that the civil rights advocate/activist made both before and after the racist incident in Alabama. A portion of the proceeds from the film will be donated to The Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self Development.

Winter State Entertainment is fast-tracking this project to get it underway in 2019.
