Nathaniel Taylor, best known for his role as “Rollo” on the classic sitcom, “Sanford and Son,” has passed away.

He was 80.

According to entertainer/promoter Alonzo Williams, Nathaniel suffered a heart attack on February 23 and remained hospitalized until he passed on the 27th, just over a month before his 81st birthday (March 31).

Alonzo said in a statement:

Today, black Hollywood lost a 70s legend Nathaniel Taylor better known as ‘Rollo’ of the hit show, ‘Sanford and Son,’ passed on Feb 27th at UCLA Medical Center of complications from a recent heart attack.

Taylor’s character on ‘Sanford and Son’ was the lovable, funny but questionable friend of Lamont the co-star of the show.

Services are yet to be announced.
