Rihanna To Have Street Named After Her In Barbados

Rihanna Drive Is Coming to Barbados

That Rihanna reign won’t let up! Now, the Barbadian beauty will have her very own street in Barbados.

The Loop News Barbados reports the Ministry of Tourism announced plans to change the name of Westbury New Road to Rihanna Drive.

“The Government of Barbados will on Independence Day, Thursday, November 30, 2017 officially change the name of Westbury New Road located in St. Michael to Rihanna Drive in honour of Barbadian superstar Ms. Robyn Rihanna Fenty who grew up in Westbury New Road.”

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart and Rihanna will participate in an unveiling ceremony at Westbury New Road from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on November 30.

Rihanna has often paid homage to her childhood neighbourhood, showing it off to renowned US talkshow host, Oprah Winfrey, when filming a special interview with her in Barbados in 2012. When she staged her LOUD tour concert at Kensington Oval in 2011, she reminisced about growing up just a stone’s throw away in Westbury and she has even named one of her companies Westbury Road Entertainment.

Congratulations to Rihanna!
