Gladys Knight, Rihanna, And Shonda Rhimes Among “Black Girls Rock!” Honorees
R&B icon Gladys Knight will receive the Living Legend award at BET’s 2016 Black Girls Rock! Awards.
Other honorees include Rihanna (Rock Star Award), writer/producer Shonda Rhimes (Shot Caller Award), “The Walking Dead” star Danai Gurira (Star Power Award), actress/activist Amandla Stenberg (Young, Gifted and Black Award) and Black Lives Matter founders Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi.
“Black-ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross is set to return as the host of the ceremony which will take place on April 1 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey, and will air on BET on April 5 at 8p EST.
