Jelani Maraj is facing trial for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl and now, a divorce.
The Daily Mail exclusively reports, Jelani’s wife, Jacqueline Robinson, filed for divorce days before their first wedding anniversary (August 18).
The divorce petition is labeled, “Uncontested Matrimonial,” which basically means both Jelani and Jacqueline agree their marriage is a wrap.
Jelani Maraj was arrested in December 2015 and charged with first-degree rape for assaulting a pre-teen. He is currently out on $100,000 bond.
In July, prosecutors confirmed Maraj’s semen was a DNA match to the fluids found on the victim’s clothing.
He’s been offered a plea deal of 15 to life. There’s been no word or whether or not he will accept it.
Jacqueline has declined to comment on the case against her soon-to-be ex-husband.
I’m wondering why she waited so long to file….
