Remy Ma surrendered to police on Wednesday and was booked for allegedly assaulting her “Love & Hip Hop” castmate Brittney Taylor.
Brittney accused Remy of punching her in the face backstage at a Pretty Lou Benefit Concert at Irving Plaza on April 16.
Following the alleged incident, Brittney sought medical treatment, filed a police report, lawyered up and took to social media to let everyone know what had happened.
In the now-deleted post, Brittney Taylor wrote:
So, here am I on my way to a very important meeting and it’s hard to even focus because of what occurred last night. I didn’t wanna bring it to social media because Its pretty embarrassing and not a good look tbh.
I tried my best to cover it up with make up and move on but that still didn’t work. My Question is @remyma why did you really do this? #WHATHAPPENEDTOWOMANEMPOWERMENT #BlackLove? Smh ??♀️
Brittney claims when she entered the backstage area Remy Ma confronted her and accused her of knowing about an attack on Papoose‘s daughter, Dejanae, a few weeks earlier.
They exchanged words and Remy allegedly clocked her in the face.
Police launched an investigation into Remy Ma’s alleged attack and Brittney filed a civil suit against her.
She requested cops preserve all evidence of the alleged assault, including surveillance footage.
Remy Ma is currently on parole after serving 6 years in prison for attempted murder.
It’s unclear how the misdemeanor assault charge will impact her freedom.
