Remy Ma is headed to trial for allegedly assaulting her “Love & Hip Hop” castmate Brittney Taylor.
The 38-year-old raptress and reality TV star appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court on Friday, where she learned she will stand trial on July 12.
It’s something Remy, who has been wearing an ankle monitor since turning herself in for the alleged assault, is not looking forward to.
While leaving the courtroom, Papoose‘s wife said:
I have things to do in my life, like, I have a real job, I have a family, I have a husband, I have a daughter.
Remy Ma, who is now facing 2 counts of assault in the third degree, 1 count of aggravated harassment in the second degree, and 1 count of harassment in the second degree, rejected a no-jail offer that would require her to plead guilty to the top charge of third-degree assault and complete an anger-management program.
Brittney accused Remy of punching her in the face backstage at a Pretty Lou Benefit Concert at Irving Plaza on April 16.
Following the alleged incident, Brittney sought medical treatment, filed a police report, lawyered up and took to social media to let everyone know what had happened.
Brittney claims when she entered the backstage area Remy Ma confronted her and accused her of knowing about an attack on Papoose‘s daughter, Dejanae, a few weeks earlier.
They exchanged words and Remy allegedly clocked her in the face.
Police launched an investigation into Remy Ma’s alleged attack and Brittney filed a civil suit against her.
She requested cops preserve all evidence of the alleged assault, including surveillance footage.
I will keep you posted on this case.
