It’s with a heavy heart that I report the remains found in Macon County on Monday have been positively identified as those of Aniah Blanchard.
According to a press release from Auburn police, the case will move forward as a homicide investigation.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences has positively identified the remains as those of Aniah Haley Blanchard.
At this point, the case will move forward as a homicide investigation, and additional charges are forthcoming.
Two men, Antwain “Squirmy” Fisher and Ibraheem Yazeed, have already been arrested and charged with kidnapping the disappearance of Aniah Blanchard.
My sincerest condolences to the Aniah’s family, friends and all who loved her.
