It’s with a heavy heart that I report Reggie Warren, an original member of the R&B group, Troop, has passed away.

Reggie, who has been dealing with health issues for quite some time, transitioned on Sunday (March 14) at his home in Pasadena, California.

He had been released from the hospital the day before and was not expected to make it.

According to the group’s representative, Reggie’s death was not COVID-related. However, the family would like to refrain from further comment until an autopsy is performed.

Reggie Warren started Troop in the 80’s with his childhood friends Rodney Benford, John Harreld, Steve Russell and Allen McNeil

The group signed to Atlantic Records and released their self-titled debut album in 1988.

Troop blew up after the release of their second studio album, Attitude, with their hit singles, “All I Do Is Think Of You” and “Spread My Wings.”

On Sunday, Steve took to social media to pay tribute to Reggie writing:

Job well done my brother I will see you on the other side????????????????????????????RIP Reggie Warren. #DamnReggie.

See the original post below.

Rest in paradise, Reggie.

My sincerest condolences to the Warren family, Troop, and all who knew and loved him.
