Before the interview began, Kim took a moment to thank Wendy for being “protective” of her when the talk show host warned her to stay away from reality TV.
Kim told Wendy, “I have to say ‘thank you’ to you because you were so protective. You were so, ‘Girl, don’t do this’ and it came from…and how I received it was from a place of protection. Almost like big sis. That’s what I received it. I don’t care what anyone else said because it was for me and that’s how I received it. Big Sis Wendy was like, ‘Look, what’s happening?'”
Like Wendy many of Kim’s longtime fans wanted her to steer clear of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but she says the show is a big platform for her.
It’s also the biggest platform. My family and I have been asked to do [reality TV] for years and have our own show and all sorts of things.
Either the platform wasn’t right, the timing wasn’t right, and all sorts of things. When this opportunity came my bit became, ‘You know what? Go big or go home.’ If you’re gone put your toe in the water. Put your toe in the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean.
