Ray Rice Pledges To Donate His NFL Salary To Domestic Violence Programs

Ray Rice desperately wants another shot at playing football in the NFL and he’s willing to give up his salary for it.

The disgraced former Baltimore Ravens running back, who lost everything after he brutally assaulted his then fiancée, Janay Rice, in an elevator, pledged to donate his salary to domestic violence programs if he’s given another chance to play in the NFL.

Ray told Tom Pelissero of USA Today:

All the scrutiny that I’ve got, it was deserved, because domestic violence is a horrible thing. Me donating my salary is something that’ll be from the heart for me. I only want to play football so I can end it the right way for my kids and for the people that really believed in me. But I know there’s a lot of people affected by domestic violence, and every dollar helps. It’s raising awareness.

Rice wanted to make it clear that his vow wasn’t a bargaining chip. He simply feels it’s the right thing to do.

I guess he’ll have to get Jesus on the mainline and tell him what he wants.

Ray and his wife, Janay are expecting their second child together.

I wish him the best.
