Terrible news coming out of New Orleans…
Rapper Young Greatness was fatally shot early Monday morning outside of a Waffle House in his hometown.
He was just 34-years-old.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, the shooting took place around 1:35 a.m. on the 2900 block of Elysian Fields Avenue.
Greatness, real name Theodore Jones, suffered a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Young Greatness was a New Orleans native who relocated to Houston after Hurricane Katrina.
He signed with Cash Money records in 2017 after releasing the single “Moolah” in 2016.
When Birdman signed him, he said, “The first time I heard him, I knew he was going to be big. He’s got a grasp on a melody that few artists have. It’s the sound of the future.”
Sending my sincerest condolences and prayers to Young Greatness’ family, friends and all who loved him.
