Very sad news coming out of Maryland. Rapper Tre Da Kid was found fatally shot in a crashed vehicle on Friday (June 7).

Officers were called to the scene for a report of shots fired and a single car collision around 9 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found Tre, real name Edward Montre Seay, struck by gunfire.

He died a short time later.

Tre was the only person in the car and a suspect has not been identified.

In a statement, police said:

This is an active and fluid investigation and we urge anyone with information about this incident to contact our detectives.

Tre Da Kid began rapping at age 6. In 2016, he won the national Freestyle 50 Challenge in Atlanta.

He told Verizon, who was an event sponsor:

This is seriously a dream come true.

In September, I lost my mother. Two weeks ago, I was posting a video to my Twitter to enter the #Freestyle50Challenge and now I’m gonna be working with some of the biggest names in hip hop. I still can’t believe it.

Tre Da Kid had just released his new album, Titles Define Kings.

Ironically, he was killed on National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

My sincerest condolences to Tre’s family and all who loved him.

Please STOP the violence!
