Funeral arrangements have been announced for rapper Shawty Lo, who perished in a fiery crash last Wednesday (September 21).
Lo, born Carlos Walker, died of “blunt force injury to the head,” the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office said in a statement to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. He was 40.
Passengers, Destini Carter and Deshondria Miller, were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Shawty Lo’s manager, Johnnie Cabbell, the beloved rapper’s funeral will be held on October 1 at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.
A benefit concert is also in the works. I’ll update you on that as the info becomes available.
Shawty Lo is survived by 11 children.
