Issa Rae and the City Girls are bringing some “Rap Sh*t” to HBO Max!
The streamer has placed an eight-episode order to the half-hour comedy series from the “Insecure” co-creator, Syreeta Singleton and City Girls hip hop duo Yung Miami and JT.
“Rap Sh*t” (working title) follows two estranged high school friends from Miami who reunite to form a rap group.
Issa will write the pilot episode and executive produce the series.
Syreeta will serve as showrunner.
Yung Miami and JT serve as co-executive producers along with Kevin âCoach Kâ Lee and Pierre âPâ Thomas for Quality Control Films
Fun Fact: This project has been in development with HBO Max since 2019.
This sounds like itâs going to be some shenanigan-filled fun!
