Jimmy Carter to begin treatment for brain cancer.
Former President Jimmy Carter announced he will begin radiation treatment for four melanoma spots on his brain Thursday afternoon.
On August 3, President Carter had a mass removed from his liver, which he learned was melanoma. An MRI showed melanoma spots on his brain.
Mr. Carter’s family has a history of pancreatic cancer. His father, both his sisters and his brother died of pancreatic cancer, and his mother had pancreatic cancer as well.
But, the beloved 90-year-old is prepared for anything that comes.
I just thought I had a few weeks left. But I was surprisingly at ease. I’ve had a wonderful life, I’ve had thousands of friends, and I’ve had an exciting and adventurous and gratifying existence.
So I was surprisingly at ease. Much more so than my wife was. But now I feel that you know that it’s in the hands of God and my worship, and I’ll be prepared for anything that comes.

We send our love and prayers to Mr. Carter as he begins treatment.
