48 hours after his shooting death, Broward Sherriff’s Office homicide detectives arrested 22-year-old Dedrick Devonshay Williams for the murder of rapper XXXTentacion.
Williams was taken into custody before 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Pompano Beach, Florida, and booked for first-degree murder.
TMZ reports:
Williams has previous arrests for cocaine possession, weapons possession, domestic violence and aggravated assault with a firearm. We previously reported he was also arrested for grand theft auto.
During an incident in 2014, Williams allegedly held a gun to his girlfriend’s head. According to arrest records, he has at least 11 felonies.
XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was reportedly out shopping for a motorcycle in South Florida on Monday and had just left the dealership when he was shot to death in his vehicle.
He was only 20-years-old.
Video surfaced online of XXX’s mother sharing the news of an arrest with others at a vigil on Wednesday night in South Florida.
I hope police have the right suspect in custody instead of pinning this on a known menace just to close the case.
