Patti LaBelle and James Wright Chanel are doing big things together.
The legendary singer has formed a special bond with the man whose viral video sent her sweet potato pies flying off of the shelves of Walmart.
According to People magazine, Patti LaBelle and James Wright Chanel have already filmed a holiday television special for the Cooking Channel where they will be whipping up sweet potato pies together.
In fact, the first time Patti and James met each other was on the set of the show.
Patti shared, “It was his first time seeing me, so when he came into the kitchen, he saw me and my back was turned. He came up behind me and he had on these beautiful leopard pants and a necklace. We just had a love moment.”
She went on to reveal she considers James Wright Chanel as her new son saying, “He’s such a larger than life person himself; he’s like my new son. It’s just a blessing when people come into your life like this and you’re not expecting anything.”
James echoed the sentiment saying, “When she first called, it was like we’d known each other forever; we talked like we were best friends,” Chanel tells PEOPLE. “I told her, ‘I have to tell my mom that Patti is my new momma too.’ I said, ‘Patti, you my momma!'”
We told you Patti invited James to her house on Thanksgiving, which was also his birthday. She gifted him with goodies from Louis Vuitton, they ate, and sang together.

Speaking of singing together, Patti LaBelle and James are also planning concert performances together.
“We’re going to perform in more ways than one. He can be my lead singer and I’ll be his background singer,” LaBelle says.
