Parker Sawyers will portray a young Barack Obama in the forthcoming romance film, Southside With You, and the beautiful Tika Sumpter has been tapped as Michelle Obama.
The romantic dramedy is centered around the President and First Lady’s very first date.
Here’s the scoop according to Deadline:
The film covers the eventful date in 1989 when a young associate named Barack Obama was trying to woo lawyer Michelle Robinson on a summer afternoon and evening, that took them from the Art Institute of Chicago to a screening of Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing, to their first smooch outside of an ice cream parlor.

I’m looking forward to this film. Although the jury is still out on Parker Saywers, I can confidently say that Tika Sumpter is an amazing actress and I’m sure she will slay as our FLOTUS in her younger years.
Southside With You is slated to arrive in 2016.
