Oprah’s OWN Staff Blindsided By Co-President Sheri Salata’s Departure

Days after Oprah Winfrey spoke out against Kelly Ripa getting blindsided by Michael Strahan‘s departure from “Live! with Kelly and Michael,” her OWN staff was blindsided by the news Sheri Salata’s departure.

A company insider said there was “an audible gasp” after Winfrey announced the move in a company-wide meeting at the Los Angeles headquarters.

We’re told the sudden move left staff’s heads spinning and the shocked team struggled to figure out the reason for the change among themselves.

Workers began boxing up Salata’s office as soon as the veteran broadcaster and media mogul broke the meeting up.

Salata, a former “The Oprah Winfrey Show” executive producer, has worked with the star for 21 years and was brought into the network in 2011 as co-chairman with Erik Logan when it was struggling in its early years.
