Neighbor Fatally Shoots Man Trying To Drown His Babies

An Oklahoma man, who was trying to drown his 3-month-old twins, was fatally shot by his neighbor on Friday (June 2).

Via NY Daily News:

Leland Foster, 27, allegedly threatened to kill the babies’ mother with a knife during the incident in an Ada, Okla., home on Friday, police said.

Ada police received a call from a frantic woman around 12:30 p.m. saying a man was trying to kill her and her children. The woman could be heard screaming in the background through an open line, police spokeswoman Lisa Bratcher told The Ada News.

A 12-year-old girl who was in the home at the time rushed over to neighbor Cash Freeman’s house for help, KFOR-TV reported.

Freeman grabbed a gun and rushed to the home where he found Foster trying to drown his children in the bathtub. The neighbor then shot Foster twice in the back, killing him, the TV station reported.

The infants were taken to a hospital in Oklahoma City and are in stable condition. They haven’t been released.

Cash Freeman was questioned and released by police.

The district attorney’s office is still deciding whether or not the killing was justified and if they will file criminal charges against Freeman.

Meanwhile…on social media…some are hailing Cash as a hero, who saved the lives of two babies, and others are questioning if deadly force was necessary.
