Samira Wiley Joins “The Handmaid’s Tale” Cast
Samira Wiley is jumping ship from Netflix to Hulu.
The “Orange is the New Black” star has joined the cast of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” an upcoming-straight-series drama based on Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel.
According to Deadline, Samira will play Moira, the college best friend Offred (Elisabeth Moss), her fellow handmaid-in-training at the Red Center. She’s also her connection to life before Gilead, a totalitarian society once part of the U.S. now ruled by a twisted fundamentalism that treats women as property of the state.
“The Handmaid’s Tale” is set to premiere in 2017.
