Officer Daniel Pantaleo Fired Over Chokehold Death Of Eric Garner (Video)
Officer Daniel Pantaleo has finally been fired over the 2014 chokehold death of Eric Garner. Get the scoop.
I guess it’s better late than never… Officer Daniel Pantaleo has finally been fired over the 2014 chokehold death of Eric Garner.
NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill made the announcement on Monday and noted that he would have also made the same mistakes as Pantaleo if he’d been in the same situation. Oh, really now?
I examined the totality of the circumstances and relied on the facts.
If I had been in Officer Pantaleo’s situation I may have made similar mistakes. Being a police officer is one of the hardest jobs in the world.
Pantaleo accosted Eric Garner for allegedly selling loosies (individual cigarettes) on a Staten Island street and placed him in a chokehold.
Eric said, “I can’t breathe,” 11 times as he struggled on the ground gasping for air. Pantaleo held the chokehold until Eric died.
Daniel Pantaleo was not convicted to killing Eric Garner and here we are five years later…he’s just now being fired for it.
