Victor Kamara is speaking out after he was called the N-word by a customer who refused to wear a mask.

The customer has since been identified as Stephanie Denaro, and she has been dubbed “Bagel Karen”.

Kamara says he was sorry and appalled by the situation, and he wondered why the woman called him the N-word when she has mixed children.

He also said he appreciated the people that stepped in while he was trying to calm the situation.

The Davidovich Bakery released a statement praising Kamara.

We stand with all our employees and thank Victor for handling this situation of hate and bigotry with professionalism and grace… anyone who uses racism and any insensitive language, simply is not welcomed in our stores.

Watch the GMA report below:

Kamara says he’s received overwhelming support on social media from people all over the world, and customers are flocking to the store.

He said his tip jar has been overflowing and people have called the bakery to ask for his Venmo.

He received a $100 tip on Wednesday, and another customer gifted him a $100 Metro card.

A customer even gave him some sage to cast out any negative energy that Bagel Karen may have left behind.

Kamara has been offered representation from several attorneys, but he says he doesn’t plan to press charges.

He wants his story to be an example of how a person of color can react to a racist.

He says you don’t have to respond to their insults and slurs with violence … it’s better to show love, even if they’re demonstrating hate.

How would you have reacted if you were in Victor Kamara’s shoes?
