New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith suffered a broken jaw and will be sidelined for six to 10 weeks following a locker room altercation with a teammate.

According to reports, Geno and linebacker IK Enemkpali got into a petty argument in the locker room on Tuesday morning. Smith allegedly put his finger in Enemkpali’s face. IK retaliated by sucker-punching the QB leaving him with a broken jaw that required surgery.

Jets coach Todd Bowles is thoroughly disgusted and disappointed saying, “It’s something we don’t tolerate. It’s something we can’t stand. You don’t walk up to another man and punch him in the face.”

Bowles didn’t go into detail about what the argument was about, but we do know it had nothing to do with football. “It was something very childish that sixth-graders could have talked about,” Bowles said. (Maybe they were arguing over the Drake and Meek Mill battle.)

Enemkpali, who was drafted in the sixth round of the 2014 draft, was immediately released from the team.

After the debacle, Geno Smith posted a selfie on his Instagram account with caption, “I’ll be back.”
