Nike Pulls Air Max Featuring Betsy Ross Flag After Complaint From Colin Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick is keeping Nike in check! (See what I just did right there?!)

The athletic apparel giant will not release their Air Max 1 Quick Strike Fourth of July sneakers, which features an old version of the American flag created by Betsy Ross.

The $140 kicks were slated to be released on Monday (July 1) in celebration of the Fourth of July holiday.

But, after Kap reached out to Nike to remind them that version of the flag was used during the slavery era and its mad offensive, they decided to forgo the release and pulled the shoes from stores that had already received shipments.

“Nike has chosen not to release the Air Max 1 Quick Strike Fourth of July as it featured an old version of the American flag.”

Kudos to Colin Kaepernick for handling that business for us.
