“Nightly News” Pulls Tamron Hall As Guest Host
Tamron Hall was pulled as fill-in host of NBC’s “Nightly News” on Thursday and Friday after Prince‘s official cause of death was revealed.
It’s no secret Tamron and the iconic singer had a very close relationship.
She recently opened up about her last convo with Prince saying, “He assured me he was OK. He kept saying he was fine and asked me to come to Paisley Park. It was a sweet moment, and I had no idea it would be our last time talking. I never imagined it.”
On Thursday, when the medical examiner revealed Prince died from an accidental opioids overdose, Tamron and NBC execs felt it would be a conflict of interest for her to host a show where she would have to discuss the cause of her friend’s death publicly.

A source told us, “Tamron and NBC News execs discussed it and decided together it was best for her to not fill in [Thursday or Friday]. She’s been open about her friendship with Prince, so for her, this is more than a news story. She’ll fill in again soon.”
