Nia Long To Star In Roxanne Shante Biopic
When one door closes…another door opens.
Nia Long has landed a role in Forest Whitaker‘s forthcoming biopic about 80’s Hip Hop star Roxanne Shante.
According to Essence, Roxanne Roxanne “will chronicle the infamous Roxanne Hip-Hop Wars that spawned as a result of the track and take viewers back to the early days of hip-hop culture in the ‘80s.”
Nia will play the role of Roxanne Shante’s mother, Miss Peggy.
The actress hinted to her new gig after we learned her sitcom, Uncle Buck, had been canceled.

Roxanne Shante is elated to have Nia on board for the project.
In a post on her Instagram page, the legendary raptress wrote, “When your sister Nia Long is playing your Mama Miss Peggy in the 80’s You can only feel so honored and so so blessed. #roxanneroxanne The Movie The Roxanne Shante story #plzbelieveit”
