Three players on the Titans and five Titan staff workers tested positive for COVID-19 prompting the NFL to suspend club activities.

The NFL released the statement below:

The Titans stated they will “work remotely” on Tuesday “out of an abundance of caution” as they work to confirm the positive tests.

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, the Minnesota Vikings have not reported any positive test but they are being shut down in order to take the “safe approach.”

The Titans are scheduled to play the Pittsburgh Steelers at home on Sunday, but the NFL has not made a decision on whether the game will be played or not.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are proceeding with their preparation for Sunday’s game.

“We have been in contact with the NFL regarding the positive COVID-19 tests with the. Titans,” the Steelers stated. “We have been informed to proceed with our game preparations for Sunday’s game until we are informed otherwise. We will provide more information when available.”

Dianna Russini of ESPN, added an NFL source texted her, “We are shutting Tennessee down until Saturday.”

Titans coach Mike Vrabel reported on Monday that outside linebackers coach Shane Bowen wasn’t with the team for Sunday’s game against the Vikings because he was placed on the NFL’s COVID-19 list.

The names of the other individuals who tested positive have not been released at this time.

Kevin Seifert of ESPN stated, “it remains possible that some or all of these results are false positive” because two positive follow-up test is required to determine if the initial result was correct.

The NFL has not had a game postponed so far due to COVID-19, but I believe this may be the first one.

I don’t know how the Titans will play on Sunday if their facility is shutdown until a day before the game.

Hopefully, the individuals who tested positive make a full recovery.
