First “STAR“…now this!
ABC had decided not to move forward with Dick Wolf‘s reboot of the hit drama series, “New York Undercover.”
The new series was set to pick up 20 years after the end of the original series and would follow detectives Nat Gilmore and Melissa Ortiz as they investigate the city’s most dangerous criminals from Harlem to Battery Park.
Malik Yoba was on board to reprise his role Detective J.C. Williams.
In the reboot, Williams would oversee the unit and the next generation of detectives.
Luna Lauren Velez, who joined “New York Undercover” in its second season as Nina Moreno and remained until the show ended in 1999, was also set to reprise her role in the reboot.
Anthony Hemingway was set to executive produce and direct the pilot.
We all know one monkey don’t stop no show – Dick Wolf and Universal TV are reportedly planning to shop the reboot elsewhere.
I certainly hope so because this news is very disappointing, but I understand how these things go down in Hollywood.
