'New Jack City' Sequel In The Works From 'Snowfall' Actor Malcolm M. Mays

In case you haven’t heard – a New Jack City sequel is in the works at Warner Bros.

“Snowfall” actor and filmmaker Malcolm M. Mays is taking on the task of penning the sequel to the classic 1991 film, starring Wesley Snipes as a crime lord, who ascends to power and becomes megalomaniacal while a maverick police detective vows to stop him.

In a post on his Instagram page, Malcolm clarified that the film is not a reboot – it’s a sequel.

A director has yet to be selected for the project.

Mays, who played the role of Kevin Hamilton for two seasons of “Snowfall,” is also slated to write and direct, Flint, for Will Smith‘s Overbrook Entertainment.
