‘Marlon’ Renewed For Season 2
I’m super excited to tell you Marlon Wayans‘ new sitcom, “Marlon,” has received a season 2 renewal from NBC!
In the series, which is loosely based on the life of the actor and comedian, Marlon stars as an inappropriate and loving father who is navigating how to co-parent with his polar opposite ex-wife Ashley, played by Essence Atkins.
Bresha Webb, Diallo Riddle, Notlim Taylor and Amir O’Neal round out the cast.
The show opened strong with 5.4 MILLION total viewers tuning in for the back-to-back premiere making it the second most-watched summer comedy premiere for the network.
Via Deadline:
NBC has ordered a second season of its comedy Marlon starring Marlon Wayans. Following the series’ solid summer run, the renewal was not in doubt, with the network and producers over the past few weeks discussing the size of the order and the time frame for the show’s return.
Season 1 consisted of 10 episodes (as opposed to the standard 13) and was originally slated for midseason 2017 but did not get on the air until the summer. I hear the producers had been looking for in-season Season 2 run and a non-abbreviated order. The exact number of episodes for next season has still TBD.
Congratulations to the cast and crew!
