Kobe Bryant- Stephen Curry

While Kobe Bryant was wrapping up his incredible 20-year career in the NBA, Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors were rewriting NBA history.

On Wednesday night, the Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies to scoop their 73rd win to now boast the NBA’s best-ever regular season.

Via ESPN:

This wasn’t supposed to happen. No team could eclipse the Jordan Bulls’ hallowed benchmark of 72 wins, much less this one. In winning 125-104 over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors, again, jumped the line and seized something the league still struggles to believe. They, and not Michael Jordan, now boast the NBA’s best-ever regular season.

The season-capper featured more than just win No. 73. Going in, Curry needed eight 3-pointers to reach 400 on the season and 41 points for a 30-point average. Reaching those benchmarks seemed like a stretch, and yet Curry did it in 30 minutes. Yet again, he made the extraordinarily difficult look wonderfully easy. Again, records fell with the loose flick of his wrist.

Steph Curry took to his Instagram page to share his thoughts after the game:

Tonight was special. #73. We did something thats never been done in the History of the league. Together. So proud of this squad…now the real journey begins. Let’s get it! #LockIn #Dubnation

Our girl Ayesha Curry, beamed with pride as she took her hubby’s side at his court side interview.

Steph also took a moment to pay homage to Kobe Bryant, who also had a historic night:

First let me say congrats to Kobe on an unbelievable career. 20 years! You set he bar on the court for our generation. Thank you. And 60….for real? This is how I’d look At you after tonight. #MambaOut

Congratulations to both Kobe Bryant and Stephen Curry on their amazing and historic nights.
