The person of interest in the case of missing Florida teen, Miya Marcano, has been found dead.

Miya, a 19-year-old Valencia College student, who lived and worked at the Ardent Villas apartments, went missing on Friday afternoon (September 24) after she never made a flight she was scheduled to be on.

She was last seen around 5 p.m. at the complex.

Armando Caballero, 27, who was a maintenance man at the apartment complex, demonstrated a romantic interest in Miya, which she repeatedly rebuffed.

Deputies spoke with him on Friday evening and did not consider him a suspect or person of interest at that time.

Authorities eventually learned Caballero had inappropriately used a master key to enter Miya Marcano’s apartment 30 minutes before her shift ended on Friday.

Armando Caballero was then considered a person of interest in the case and an arrest warrant for burglary was issued.

On Monday (September 27) morning, Caballero in a garage at the Sabal Club Apartments in unincorporated Longwood.

His body was discovered by two maintenance workers at the complex.

Officials say he died of an apparent suicide.

The search for Miya Marcano continues and her family is hopeful she will be found alive.

OCSO asked anyone with information regarding this case to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 407-836-4357.

Please keep Miya and her family uplifted in prayer.
