Michelle Williams has exited Broadway’s “Once On This Island” after just two weeks under her doctor’s orders.
The Destiny’s Child singer was playing the role of goddess Erzulie in the Broadway musical, but now her understudy Cassondra James will take over until December 26.
A statement read, “Effective immediately, Michelle T. Williams has been advised by her doctors to take a leave of absence from performing.”
Michelle’s representative declined to comment.
I’m saddened, but not surprised by the news. Michelle has had mental health challenges in the past and with the recent split from her fiancé, Chad Johnson, I’m sure she’s dealing with a lot right now.
