Meek Mill was filled with pride as he accepted the Impact Award at Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Players Event on Thursday evening at Legacy Records in New York City.

The rapper, who has been working diligently to bring about prison reform, was presented the award by Van Jones.

In a post on his Instagram page, Meek shared a photo of himself giving his acceptance speech with the caption:

And my judge said ima threat to society….

I just wanna give her a hug so she won’t never place that type judgement on young men like me again! @billboard
