Mayor Rahm Emanuel On Jussie Smollett: ‘This Is A Whitewash Of Justice’ (Video)
All criminal charges are dropped against Jussie Smollett, but the mayor and the Chicago Police Department are not happy about it.
Jussie Smollett beat them charges like Rocky, but the mayor and the Chicago Police Department are hot as fish grease about it!
Mayor Rahm Emanuel was furious during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon where he called the dropping of 16 counts of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report a “whitewash of justice.”
A person using hate crime laws that are on the books to protect people who are minorities, and you turn around and use them to advance your career?
Is there no decency in this man?
Both Emanuel and Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson wholeheartedly believe the entire thing was a hoax by Smollett in an effort to further his career.
Johnson said prosecutors brokered the deal with Jussie and his legal team in secret.
I’m sure we all know what happened this morning. Do I think justice was served? No. What do I think justice is? I think this city is owed an apology.
At the end of the day, it’s Mr. Smollett who committed this hoax, period. I heard that they wanted their day in court … so America could know the truth, and they chose to hide behind secrecy of a brokered deal to circumvent the judicial system.
We found about it when you all did. I’m sure we’ll have some conversation after this. But again at the end of the day Mr. Smollett committed this hoax.
Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Gugliemi took to Twitter to get some things off of his chest.
Chicago police detectives did an excellent investigation and their work was reaffirmed by an independent grand jury who brought 16 criminal counts. In our experience, innocent individuals don't forget bond & perform community service in exchange for dropped charges. https://t.co/P9rsvUMwwZ

This math ain’t adding up, but what’s done is done.
