Of all places to be on the national holiday celebrating his father’s birth, Martin Luther King III was at Trump Tower having a “constructive” meeting with Donald Trump, the man who represents everything his father stood against.
The meeting comes on the heels of Trump disrespecting Rep. John Lewis on Twitter.
But, King says, like John Lewis, he is a bridge builder and his goal is to bring America together.
In the heat of emotion a lot of things get said on both sides…and I think that, at some point, I am, as John Lewis and many others are, a bridge builder. The goal is to bring America together and Americans. We are a great nation, but we must become a greater nation.
