Marc Lamont Hill Speaks Out In Support Of Megan Thee Stallion Over Drake's Lyrics

Marc Lamont Hill, author, activist, and television personality made it very clear that he doesn’t support Drake’s lyrics about Megan Thee Stallion on the “Circo Loco” song off of the Her Loss album.

So much so that he tweeted he was three tracks in when he read the Meg reference on Twitter and decided not to finish the album.

Started listening to Drake’s album. Was 3 tracks in when I read about the Megan Thee Stallion reference on Twitter.

I won’t be finishing the album. And please don’t tell me it’s just wordplay… or that it went over my head.

I’m very smart. I got it. Doesn’t make it less gross.

He also added two additional tweets explaining his stance:

After being approached by MeToo founder Tarana Burke, Marc decided to sign an open letter in support of Megan Thee Stallion on Thursday (November 10).

The letter is also supported by several other influential leaders and organizations including Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium, Maxine Waters, Planned Parenthood CEO, Alexis McGill Johnson, Tamika Mallory, and many others.

The letter uplifts Megan as a strong woman who is sticking to her truth while the hip hop culture fails to support her.
