Manny Pacquiao took to social media to officially announce he is retiring from boxing.

The 42-year-old boxing legend tweeted:

To the greatest fans and the greatest sport in the world, thank you! Thank you for all the wonderful memories. This is the hardest decision I’ve ever made, but I’m at peace with it. Chase your dreams, work hard, and watch what happens. Good bye boxing.

In a 14:19 minute video posted to his Instagram account, Pacquiao sends heartfelt thank you’s to everyone that helped him on his boxing journey, including the fans and the media.

He also reflects on his major accomplishments during his career, and he gives all the credit to God.

The videographer did an amazing job capturing special moments in and out of the ring of Pacquiao’s career.

Pacquiao talks in his native tongue (Filipino) and English during the video, and he maintains a good balance between the two.

Pacquiao is a boxing legend, he ends his career with a professional record of 62-7-2, with 39 wins by knockout.

He was the first boxer ever to win world titles in eight weight divisions, and the first boxer to become a four-decade world champion (1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s).

Pacquiao has been involved in politics in his homeland of the Philippines for a long time, and he’s running for President in May 2022.
