Man Killed, Wife Injured In Shooting Outside Pappadeaux

Very sad news coming out of Marietta, Georgia…

A Cobb County man was killed and his wife was injured in a shooting outside of Pappadeaux restaurant on Friday night.

About 10:15 p.m., officers responded to the scene outside the Pappadeaux restaurant in the 2700 block of Windy Hill Road, spokesman Dana Pierce said. Anthony Welch and Cynthia Welch, both 48, were found shot, Pierce said.

The couple were walking to their car from inside the restaurant when they were approached by a man, Pierce said. The gunman left the scene on foot.

Both victims were taken to a hospital, Pierce said. Anthony Welch was dead on arrival. Cynthia Welch is expected to survive.

“It’s like I go there every day, and for some random guy to just come through there and do that puts me on my toes about my own life,” one customer said.

If anyone has information about the incident, I implore you to contact the police: 770-499-3945

I extended my prayers and deepest sympathies to Cynthia and the Welch family during this difficult time.
