Another precious little girl has lost her life over senseless gun violence!
10-year-old Summerbell Brown was shot and killed on Wednesday when a man filled with road rage followed her family home and opened fire on their car.
Phoenix police have arrested Joshua Gonzalez, 20, and charged him with one count of first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
Summerbell’s father, Dharquintium Brown, who was driving their family car, apparently made a turn that brought him very close to hitting the alleged killer’s white pickup truck.
That’s when Gonzalez followed their car very closely all the way back to the Brown’s home.
Dharquintium told reporters, “I got out of my vehicle. I asked him, ‘What’s going on?’ And he just got to firing.”
Summerbell, who had been sitting behind the driver’s seat, was shot and pronounced dead at the hospital.
Her father was also struck by a bullet and suffered a non-life-threatening injury.
Summerbell’s mother, Taniesha Brown, spoke out saying:
This is heartbreaking … that I lost my baby like this
There was no reason for her to be taken like this. I wish it was me instead of my baby.
This nightmare’s going to be playing in my head every day. I just really hope she’s at peace.
I’m heartbroken over this and I extend my prayers and deepest sympathies to the Brown family.
Joshua Gonzalez better be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
