Not only is Universal remaking John Woo‘s classic 1989 crime drama, The Killer, but they’ve tapped Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o for the starring role! [squeals]
According to Deadline, Lupita is in negotiations to play the role of an assassin who puts her own life on the line to save a woman whom she accidentally blinded in her last hit.
In the original film, the role was played by the incomparable Chow Yun-Fat.
John Woo has signed on to direct the remake and he’s a beast when it comes to gun-clapping action films.
I watched The Killer many years ago and it is one of my most fave films next to Scarface.
