Oh, this “New York Undercover” reboot is coming together beautifully.
On the heels of the news of Malik Yoba reprising his role as Detective J.C. Williams, we’ve learned Luna Lauren Velez will be returning for ABC’s reboot pilot as well.
Velez joined “New York Undercover” in its second season as Nina Moreno and remained until the show ended in 1999.
In the reboot, Williams is overseeing the NYC’s Fourth Precinct and the next generation of detectives and Moreno is a retired detective who still has ties to the unit.
In a post on her Instagram page, Luna Lauren Velez wrote:
It’s official! I am over the moon about the reboot of #NYundercover. Thank you @dickwolf! I was praying with @malikyoba that this would happen.
I am thrilled to be working again with my genius hermano @shinybootz on @abcnetwork So excited to work with @_benipedia_ for the first time and can’t wait to breathe new life into Niña! #grateful #faith #excited #culture #eddiesnotdead #love ✨
Judging from that #EddiesNotDead hashtag… Michael DeLorenzo may be coming back as well! ?
Imagine the whole crew back together again…
