Terry Pat Reynolds II, a Louisiana State University student and Phi Kappa Psi fraternity member, is facing criminal charges for a hazing incident that left a freshman in the hospital fighting for his life.

Reynolds turned himself into LSU police on Monday in Baton Rouge, and he was arrested on charges of felony and misdemeanor criminal hazing.

He was also charged with failure to seek assistance after a Phi Kappa Psi pledge suffered severe alcohol poisoning after he was reportedly hazed.

According to reports, on October 19, Reynolds had a party at his house and he instructed pledges to play a drinking game where they were to guzzle alcohol until it was all gone. Some students blacked out, but no one called LSU police.

The student, listed in the report as “Victim 1,” was taken to Baton Rouge General Medical Center and he was immediately placed on life support after a toxicology screening showed his blood-alcohol level was .451, nearly six times the legal limit.

The hospital staff reported the victim had a “pink frothy foam” oozing from his nose and mouth, indicating organ failure.

Lucky for Reynolds the victim has since recovered.

LSU spokesman Ernie Ballard said hazing will not be tolerated in a statement obtained by the news.

The university has stated on multiple occasions that hazing will not be tolerated and the university acts swiftly when any hazing allegations are brought forth.

Reynolds could face jail time under the Max Gruver Act, named after a Georgia native and LSU freshman who died after being hazed in 2017. The act was signed into Louisiana law in 2018.

WOW! I didn’t know anything about the suicide being linked to the hazing incident until after watching the news report. What the hell is going on at LSU?
