Mendeecees Harris admits to drug trafficking charges!
On Tuesday, the “Love & Hip Hop” star pleaded guilty to narcotics conspiracy in front of U.S. District Judge Frank Geraci Jr. as part of a plea deal the judge called, “a rather complicated agreement.”
During his hour-long testimony, Mendeecees admitted he was part of a drug trafficking operation that shipped cocaine and heroin to the Rochester area between 2005 and 2012.
As part of his agreement with federal prosecutors, Mendeecees Harris must relinquish all of his earnings from “Love & Hip Hop” and his paid appearances to the federal government. According to attorney Donald Thompson, the reality TV star has already paid $103,000.
Mendeecees, who is out on a $600,000 bond put up by his fiancée, Yandy Smith (Harris), is facing a sentence of 8 to 10 years in federal prison and/or a fine ranging from $15,000 to $5 million. He will also face four or five years of supervised release.
The good news is the judge has allowed Mendeecees to remain free on bond until his sentencing on Aug. 31 at 3 p.m.
Once the case is resolved, the bail package and property will be returned to Yandy.
That’s got to be a heavy load to carry for a couple who has an upcoming wedding special slated to air on Memorial Day.
Hopefully, everything will work out for the best.
