Loretta Devine and Tia Mowry are set to star in the new Netflix comedy series, “Family Reunion.”
The huge streaming service has given the show a straight-to-series order with 20 episodes out of the gate.
Created by Meg DeLoatch (Netflix’s Fuller House, Eve), the comedy revolves around Cocoa McKellan (Mowry, of Sister, Sister fame), a free-spirited mother from Seattle.
When she and her former football-playing husband Moz (Anthony Alabi, Insecure) and their four children travel from their home in the big city to the small down of Columbus, Ga., for the McKellan Family Reunion, they get to know an extended family they didn’t realize they were missing.
Emmy winner Devine (Grey’s Anatomy, The Carmichael Show) will play the loving but strict matriarch of the family, M’Dear). Talia Jackson, Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Cameron J. Wright and Jordyn James play Mowry and Alabi’s children. Eric Dean Seaton (Modern Family, Prince of Peoria) will direct the series.
This should be good. I look forward to seeing these ladies in action together.
